Guidelines for Students

Do not give out personal information such as address, phone numbers, or the name and location of your school without permission from a parent.
Check with parents first before agreeing to get together with someone you met online. If your parents allow you to get together with someone you met online make sure it is in a public place and that you take another responsible individual with you.
Never send a picture or anything else without first asking your parents.
Do not respond to messages that are unkind or contain questionable material. Report such incidents to a parent.
Always treat others like you would want to be treated.

Guidelines for Parents

Set rules for appropriate use of the Internet.
Place your computer in an open and public area of your home.
Younger children should be monitored while surfing the Internet.
Teach your child not to give out personal information on the Internet.
Maintain good communication and encourage your child to tell you about their online experiences.
